Depicting the severed head of the mythological Gorgon Medusa, a creature whose gaze could turn anyone to stone, is considered a self-portrait where the artist used his own face to express the anguish and horror of the moment just after her beheading, creating a powerful image of both beauty and terror. We’ve been inspired by “Medusa” by Michelangelo Caravaggio with a blend of vetiver, oak moss, sea salt, frankincense and myrrh.
